whoopee - the sun is out!

Happy June to you - read on for the latest news and special offers!
This months news letter is a little late as I have been out in the garden, setting and clearing whilst the sun shines. I feel so good for the sun - we have all missed it for the last few years.
I have some special offers for you this month, but before I let you know about what I have been up to, what I will be up to and some special offers for you I want to chat about our friend the sun.
FUN IN THE SUN
We all love to feel the suns caress on our backs, but please be sensible. I prefer not to use sun lotion my self, in fact my girls have only had sun lotion applied to them once or twice in their entire lives (they are 9 and 5 now). We prefer to respect the sun and put cool long sleeved cotton shirts on, floppy hats and shades and to not go out in the mid day sun.
Before you say it - I know it sounds weird, but I have always been concerned about sunblock causing vitamin D deficiancy (because the vitamin D is made by exposing our skin to the sun). Now, I am actually hearing of children suffering from Rickets (a disease from deficiency in Vitamin D) in our country. Not a good sign.
If you respect the sun you can skip next piece of advice. If you get sunburn / sunstroke, there are several remedies you can use to help speed recovery. First have a long cool shower / bath (put a few drops of lavender oil in the bath if you like). Apply aloe vera in the evening to the sore skin (re-apply as needed) cover it up to let it heal and use belladonna if it is throbbing. (If belladonna does not help, there are many more, please call for an appointment to find the remedy that suits you.) And do stay hydrated. Drink lots of water (not sugary drinks).
WHERE HAS DAWN BEEN
Oh I have been a bit busy this month. I have been to Olympia to the allergy show and was really excited to speak to Patrick Holford. I have also been to a seminar about treating eating disorders at the Royal Society of Medicine in London. That was a fantastic day (but very long!). I have also been invited to teach holistic workshops for the Association of Natural Medicine. So in addition to the workshops I currently run, if there is something you would like to learn about, please email me I let me know.
WHERE IS DAWN GOING IN JUNE
June is going to be just as busy, I am going to a conference with the Society of Homeopaths, and I will also be at the New Holland and Barretts store in Colchester on Wednesday 16th June from 11am to 2pm. I will be giving free advice whilst I am there. so please pop in and say HI. I am also hoping to be at my local village fete on Saturday 26th June with the Church trust. We are constantly trying to raise funds for a historic church. If you want details of the event, please contact me. And if that is not enough I am attending a living foods conference in London with speakers from The hippocrates institute. And of course, I will still be running my clinic.
