Homeopathy

Homeopathy is an effective and scientific system of healing, which assists the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. It has been well established now for almost 200 years.

It recognises that all symptoms of ill health are expressions of disharmony
within the whole person and that it is the client who needs treatment, not the disease. The remedies used by Homeopaths are derived from natural sources, including plants, minerals and metals. They are dispensed in the form of small pills, which dissolve easily in the mouth. Homeopathic remedies do not have side effects and are not addictive, this makes them safe for the youngest of babies through to the elderly and are also safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

What will happen during a consultation?

At your first appointment Dawn will take a medical and family history along with any information of events occurring around your illness developing.  She will then ascertain (either at the appointment or after the appointment) which remedy best suits your needs and decide on a course of treatment for you.

How long will my consultation last?

Your first appointment will last for 1 hour (up to 45minutes for children) and follow up appointments will last 45 minutes (up to 30  minutes for children).

Do I need to bring anything with me?

If you take any medication or supplements it is a good idea to bring these along with you.  Also it is often helpful to make a few notes (if you wish) of things you want to tell me about, your health history and and family health history tendencies.  For children it is also helpful to bring their health record book if you have it.

What will happen at the end of my consultation?

At the end of your consultation you will be able to ask any questions that have not already been covered or you wish to clarify.  Dawn will also chat to you about the next of your treatment plan.

What if I am unable to travel to the clininc?

Sometimes clients (for a wide range of reasons) are unable to travel to the clinic.  If this is the case for you, please contact me about a possible home visit.  We can also make an appropriate plan for follow up treatments (these may either be home visits or telephone consultations).

How much is my health investment?

The initial consultation fee is £45 for adults (and £35 for children).  Subsequent appointments are £35 for adults (and £25 for children).

Please note from 1 July 2010 fees will be £50 for the initial adult consultatio (and £38 for children).  Subsequent appointments are £38 for adults (and £25 for children).

If you would like to take advantage of an appointment by home visit, please ask at the time of booking what the fee will be.  In general my fees will work out at £45 per hour including travel time (£50 per hour from 1 July 2010).  So, for example, if you live 1/2 hour drive from Abberton, the first appointment fee (before 1 July) will be £45 consultation plus £45 travel fee.

Should you wish to benefit from any tests or supplements as part of your treatment you will be advised of the additional fees.
