Easy Nourishing Juices
Rhubarb and apple juice
Most people are hesitant to try this raw juice, the fear of the rhubarb I feel puts them off, but when the venture to try it - they want it all! It is that good.
For this recipe you will need a juicer, or a high speed blender and a straining cloth.
Serves 2 to 4 people, depending upon desired serving size.
Ingredients
2 or 3 sticks of rhubarb (leaves removed, washed and then chopped into 1 inch long pieces)
3 apples (washed and quartered, or chopped smaller, dependant upon your juicers needs)
1 to 2 inch piece of ginger - depending upon your preferred taste
Method
With the juicer running, pop in pieces of the ingredients alterarnating between them. this should help prevent the juicer blocking up from the rhubarb fibres. Then either strain and serve, or serve.
If you are using a blender, pop all the ingredients in with a small amount of water and blend until liquified, then strain through a muslin type cloth.
Serve.
I like to have this both at room temperature, and chilled. If left to stand, it may need stirring before serving.
If not drank straight away, best kept refridgerated.
You have to try it to believe the amazing flavour.
