Raw Porridge
When it is cold outside...you want something warm on the inside....so we can't eat raw 'cause it is cold...right...wrong!
Raw food should not be cooked as cooking destroys valuable enzymes and nutrients....but is can be soaked and gently warmed. If you want more from your warm breakfast, take a peak at the yummy morning treat.
To make your RAW PORRIDGE use 1 measure of raw oats and soak for two days changing the water twice a day
(or organic jumbo oats if you can not find raw oats soaked over night) and soak them in 2 measures of water / nut
mylk /raw milk overnight.
In the morning place the soaked oats in a
double boiler and allow to slowly warm. As it warms the oats will turn softer
and creamy. I use a large heatproof glass jug to soak the oats overnight, then
place the jug over a pan of just boiled water until the oats are the right
consistency. Rewarming the water as needed. To the oats you can add a little
cinnamon r fruit...or whatever takes your fancy...a great start for chilly
mornings. Add more liquid if you want a slightly thinner porridge
enjoy!
