Feeling grumpy or sulky
Sometimes things happen and we find ourselves either unable to speak (for a while – or possibly even days) or maybe the opposite, we may get into a grump and really struggle to pull ourselves out of it. There are specific neurodevelopment fixes for these repeated patterns; however, there is some self-help you can do for yourself.
Take yourself out of the situation, even if just for a moment. This will give you time to breathe before you potentially over react. It will also give you time to think on the situation and the desired outcome. If that is not enough, do something you enjoy. This will potentially distract your mind and take you to a happier place so you can access your creative brain for a positive solution.
Of course, whilst the above works for many, if this does not work for you, you may need help with a neural pathway that is stuck. Please seek professional support if you feel you may benefit from it.
Use it or Lose it
As we get older, our body naturally will deteriorate. It is really important to use as much of our brain as possible. So please do not just work work work…build in time for you – this includes being physically active, logic puzzles, crafts, drawing, gardening, yoga, socialising or debating, or supporting clubs or activities you enjoy. Maybe even learn something new – such as a musical instrument ….. But make it fun – stress ages your body and mind. Again, if you struggle with anything you enjoy, you may need professional help, please do get in touch for a mini appointment for a FREE 15 minute chat to see how we work.
